In cooperation with ATP sustain, ATP Vienna won the invited, multi-phase competition for a new research and office building for Octapharma. Vienna has been home to the pharmaceutical company’s largest production operation since 1989 and this has swiftly grown to become one of the most up-to-date plasma fractionation facilities.

The competition phases had the character of a feasibility study due to the fact that ATP was able to use the individual presentations and discussions with the client to indicate new approaches and possibilities as a result of its expertise in both the laboratory and office sectors. In many areas this led to an increase in quality standards.

With the support of ATP the Vienna facility should become an example for Octapharma’s other European locations. This is because excellently designed buildings with short travel distances and sustainable energy systems are the basis of better working conditions, lower costs and, hence, higher productivity.

Integrally designed by ATP Vienna the new complex offers state-of-the-art laboratories and offices for the R&D (Research & Development) departments. The building is designed to facilitate changes of use with the appropriate rebuilding measures and the relationship between the offices and laboratories can be flexibly adapted. Another challenge is the short overall project duration of just two years from the design start to completion.
