As a person who grew up in a family-run agricultural business, I enjoy being outdoors, being in the fresh air and appreciating what nature offers us every day. And yet we spend a large part of our lives in buildings and rooms. In them we work, live, protect and socialize. Through them we define our home and look into other cultures. They are thus an omnipresent part of our lives and closely intertwined with our human nature. This relevance and complexity of buildings has always fascinated me and finally led me to study “Energy-efficient planning and construction” in Augsburg. I particularly like the challenge of looking at and finally balancing ecological, economic and social aspects of buildings as a whole. I am firmly convinced that these set screws have great potential to significantly influence and improve our everyday life. I also personally see all these aspects as key elements for clever solutions that will enable us and our future generations to lead a life worth living.
